The Meerkat Magic Conservation Project occassionally has Assistant Research Positions available for periods of two weels to three months or more depedning on the first 3 months.

These positions are for Research and Conservation and Education methodology experience in the field. These limited positions are for assistants who would pay for their accommodation on The Study Areas, Tracker salaries, Experience, Equipment. All assistants who make a significant contribution to The Meerkat Magic Conservation Project will receive mention in future articles on The Wild Web Site.

For more information regarding the many exciting opportunities available for paying assistants, including watching and studying Wild meerkats / suricates in their natural protected habitat and learning more about research methodology (including checking and compiling species lists, habitat surveys, data collection techniques and applied data collection, daily watching of Wild (unfed, uncaptured, unhandled) meerkat / suricate groups, and more...), applied conservation, education (assisting in public and school presentations - when available), eco- tourism.

These and other experiences are on offer from Grant M. Mc Ilrath - A.K.A - The Meerkat Man who has since 1993 being doing field research and International and National films on two subspecies of Wild meerkats / suricates (with over 7 years of field management experience in the Kalahari desert) and having set up from scratch his own ecological research and conservation Study Sites of The Meerkat Magic Conservation Project over many years, which are well established now around Oudtshoorn, Western Cape of South Africa.

Assistants will be given exposure to the applied field experiences on offer and many others not mentioned here (including possible night time work with different study species) when working with The Meerkat Magic Conservation Project.
